Facade Life is an installation that uses an entire building facade as a screen for projecting graphics. The projection consists of an artificial ‘animal’ made out of moving light particles, which responds to the architectural borders of the facade such as doors and windows.
The projected light shapes are constrained by the laws of physics. Their movement is affected by the presence of windows and doors which will cause the particles to slide across their borders and thereby move past them. Physics such as friction, contract and attraction are some the behaviours that are built into the system.
