This is not a taxi. This vehicle is called a taxi and will transport you from point A to point B but this is not a taxi. It is point A and point B, which may or may not be your intended destination. Your destination will be dealt to you though you may disembark at any time if you so choose. Please wait until reaching the destination before paying the driver (who you’ve met before, you’re sure of it). This rule applies to all passengers regardless of embarking order. Why? Purple. 42. Because lizards don’t wear hats.
Once you go surrealist, you can’t go back. (Not least because you may have lost your mind.) Though a Berlin cab ride under certain circumstances can already border on the surreal, this month, you can catch a real-deal, André Breton-style ride to nowhere. As part of the ongoing Month of Performance Art, a performance collective will be sending a “Surrealist Taxi” out onto Berlin streets. The cab can be ordered (with some luck) via a special number, and once on board, passengers will be dealt a set of cards specifying the direction and duration of travel. Relish the adventure to nowhere you ever thought you’d wanted to go.
