Blow-fabric

Created by the japanese designers Nendo, the Blow-fabric are light bulbs made with a different type of polyester, one that can be shaped using the same technique one can use to mould hot glass, where you blow air from one extremity to shape the object.

Because it is a very handmade process, it is impossible to control the results with 100% accuracy and that makes all pieces unique. To add the light they use special LEDS, that generate less heat, avoiding damages.

The Blow-fabric was created for Tokyo Fiber, an exhibition where the main objective is to show new technologies in synthetic fibers. The Tokyo Fiber ‘09 Senseware happens between 22 and 27 of april in the La Triennale di Milano, in Milan.
